To be held Sunday 12 February, 2017, the Amazing Ride will offer three ride options to be completed over a three hour period from 10am to 1pm starting and finishing from the Hawthorn Velodrome, Patterson Reserve.

Participants will have three hours to ride their favourite course or choose to ride all three course options within the time frame of 10am to 1pm.
Each course will have its own clues to decipher and challenges to complete; this will be included in your event pack at registration on the event day.
Event volunteers will be on hand on each course to assist when required, maybe even help with answers!

During the three hour time period participants can choose to ride all ride options outlined below or just choose their favourite option.

The Hawthorn Velodrome infield will also host a variety of activities to enjoy before or after you ride.

Baby Chino Ride

The Baby Chino ride is perfect for little ones just learning to enjoy the ride. Starting and finishing at the Hawthorn velodrome this 800metre ride is suitable for balance bikes or beginners on training wheels and is perfect for a morning out with the little ones in the family. The turnaround point for the ride is situated next to a lovely playground in the park for some more fun in the sun. A great first riding adventure.

The Milkshake Ride

The Milkshake Ride is suitable for families with kids a little more comfortable on the bike. This 14km ride, again starting from the Hawthorn Velodrome, takes little adventurers to Melbourne’s iconic Collingwood Children’s Farm.  Take some time to stop for a milkshake in the cafe and look around the animal farm before the journey home. A lovely morning out.

Note: there one set of stairs to negotiate on this ride, we will have event volunteers to assist you.

The Latte Lap

The Latte Lap is for participants who want to get outside, be active and enjoy some time on the bike. This intermediate 32 kilometre ride takes in the bike paths of the Main Yarra Trail with the start and finish at the Hawthorn Velodrome, one of Melbourne’s oldest velodromes.

Note: there are two sets of stairs to negotiate on this ride,  we will have event volunteers to assist you.

The Milkshake and Baby Chino rides have a turnaround point as the half way point, you will then return the reverse direction back to the village.

We are not permitted to install course directional arrows due to council regulations to it is important to follow the course directions provided.
