Families across Melbourne are set for a fabulous day on their bikes, with Cycling Victoria’s ‘Amazing Ride’ event on Sunday 12th February 2017.

The day of family cycling fun will offer riders of all ages and abilities the opportunity to explore Melbourne by bike with three different courses, featuring iconic Melbourne locations, hidden gems and playgrounds.

There’s the 1km Baby Cino ride, perfect for the little ones in the family on their balance bikes or with training wheels. The 14km Milkshake ride, a great route for the bigger kids in the family with a stop at the Collingwood Children’s Farm along the way for a milkshake and a chance to pat the farm animals. Then there’s the 32km Latte Lap for the little kid in every big kid, following the Main Yarra Trail along a route perfect for intermediate riders.

With each ride starting and finishing at the historic Hawthorn Velodrome, riders will have the opportunity to complete as many of the routes as they wish over the three hour event.

Meanwhile, the Hawthorn Velodrome infield will be transformed into an buzzing event village with plenty of activities to keep riders of all ages and their families entertained.

We’re also delighted to confirm that Bicycle Centre South Morang will be offering free bike safety checks in the village between 10am and 1pm.

Bicycle Centre’s Shannon Johnson is very much looking forward to the day.

“We’re proud to be an event partner of such a great initiative, congratulations to Cycling Victoria for encouraging families to participate and enjoy bike riding together to explore the Melbourne bike trails. I might even sneak a ride in with my family too – if time permits.”
